Installation Sub-Guide for Windows Mobile 5.x Devices

You should create your username before completing the installation steps. For more information on creating your username, see the User Guide. After you have created your username, follow each section below to install to your Windows Mobile 2003SE or 5.x smartphone.

Note: If your phone runs Windows Mobile 6.x you should use the Windows Mobile 6 installation steps instead. The steps below are for Windows Mobile 2003SE and 5.x only.

Installing Required Files

Before Mobile Spy will function on your phone you will need to install Microsoft Compact .NET Framework. This process takes about ten minutes and will install the necessary components which enable Mobile Spy to work on your smartphone.

To get started, download and save the installer file to any location your computer. Make sure ActiveSync is running before running the installer. Then, launch the file on your computer and proceed with the install process. Keep all the options as default.

After the installer is finished installing to your computer, it will show a message stating "The software will be installed at the next connection". At that point, connect your Phone to the computer with ActiveSync. Then follow the screens on your computer and phone to complete the installation.

Step One: Download CF Installer to your PC
Save the .msi file download on this page anywhere on your computer.

Step Two: Run the Installer on Your PC
Run the .msi installer on your PC. Follow the screens and keep all the default settings.

Step Three: Connect Phone with ActiveSync
Once the installer says "The software will be installed at the next connection", connect your phone to the PC with ActiveSync.

Step Four: Follow Screens to install CF to Phone
Follow the screens to install CF to the "Device" (not Storage Card).

After the Compact .NET Framework is installed to your phone you can proceed to the next section, Installing Mobile Spy.

Installing Mobile Spy

Now that you have installed the CF2.0 SP1 to the phone, you can now successfully install Mobile Spy. Installing the program to your phone is very fast and easy. Just copy the Mobile Spy installer to the phone and run it from the phone. The installation process is very straightforward. You should select "Install to Device" during the installation process. Do not install to the memory card.

Below you will can read an example way to launch the program on your phone.

Step One: Download installer to your PC
Save the installer file to any location on your computer.

Step Two: Copy the installer to your phone
Connect your phone to the computer and copy the file to the phone.

Step Three: Run the installer on the phone
Then disconnect the phone from the computer and launch the file.

Step Four: Select "Device" for location
For "location" choose to install to the "Device". Not to storage card.

Step Five: Setup Complete
You will be brought to user login screen as described in next section.

Input User Info and Settings

After you launch Mobile Spy for the first time you will be taken to the login screen. Follow the outline below to properly save your password and test or change settings. You can bring up this interface anytime by dialing #123456789*

Step One: Enter User Login Info
Enter the username and password you created. Click Login. It may take up to 60 seconds for anything to happen while it makes a connection.

Step Two: Main Interface
There are various settngs in the Main interface. We recommend leaving all settings as default until you are monitoring successfully. Later you can change the Report Timer, which is the amount of time between uploads. An interval of 30 to 60 minutes is ideal. Click Capture when you are finished saving your settings.

Step Three: Click Hide
Now that you have entered your user login info and clicked Capture, now its time to do some monitoring. Click Hide inside the interface. Now the program should not be showing. Send some text messages and make a few calls for the test. Then view results as detailed in the user guide.

You are now ready to monitor using Mobile Spy. To check logs, go to this specific login page to login: http://www.mobilespylogs.com.

You can bring up the interface to change settings by dialing #123456789* (Then hit SEND as you would to dial a regular number).
